Karen is a property litigation lawyer assisting clients with a wide range of commercial property related disputes and advisory work.
Karen has experience in relation to:
– All areas of property management, including lease renewals, break notices, dilapidations issues and the recovery of rent arrears.
– A range of First Tier and Upper Tribunal (Land Chamber) hearings and court proceedings (including possession proceedings) and the enforcement of court judgments.
– Development issues including rights of way, easements and restrictive covenants.
Karen acts for commercial landlords and tenants, developers and high net worth individuals.
Recently Karen has dealt with a claim for a developer in the First Tier Tribunal contesting a local group’s right to use part of the developer’s portfolio. Karen has also successfully settled a professional negligence claim worth over £100,000 on behalf of a client left with a landlocked site as a result of negligent advice.
Karen is a member of the Property Litigation Association, the Association of Women Solicitors and is a committee member of the Women in Property Association.
Karen completed her training contract with Cobbetts LLP before moving to Halliwells LLP on qualification. Karen worked for HBJ Gateley Wareing LLP for a short period before joining Land Law LLP in September 2010.
In her spare time Karen enjoys running, walking and travelling. Karen also plays for a local netball team in the Stockport Netball League.
